As of late Star Wars has been in the headlines for more than one reason. Whether it’s praise from fans on the storyline of the Mandalorian or news of brand new projects. One of the biggest news headlines to drop was the fact all of the Star Wars games will be under one brand known as Lucasfilm Games. Alongside the new brand, a brand new open-world Star Wars game is currently being developed by Ubisoft.

One of the main reasons Lucasfilm Games has decided to partner with Ubisoft is for their “renowned expertise in developing immersive worlds.” Ubisoft and Massive Entertainment will be working on the open-world Star Wars project. While no gameplay details have been announced Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot did tease some information. The game will be “an original Star Wars adventure that is different from anything that has been done before.”

Star Wars is no stranger to RPG games with entries such as The Old Republic, Knights of the Old Republic, and Jedi: Fallen Order. It is something to note that EA was largely connected to quite a few Star Wars games over the last few years. With the new Lucasfilms Games, there still will be a connection with EA and other Star Wars projects in the future. “This is just the beginning of what I think is going to be a very exciting year for Lucasfilm Games.” This statement was made by Lucasfilm Games VP Douglas Reilly regarding the future of gaming and Star Wars.
