
The inaugural GLL Apex Legends Series for both EMEA and NA kicked off this December 7-8th. 10 teams were invited for both regions while 10 other teams qualified for the series. The finals which were hosted this past weekend on December 14-15th just wrapped up. It was a strong showing for both sides but let’s look at the EMEA region. Plenty of teams showed why they’re at the top when it comes to competitive Apex but Luminosity showed why they were better than everyone else. Over the two days of finals, Luminosity win the inaugural GLL Apex Legends Series for EMEA.
How does the tournament work?
Much like the previous Apex Legends Preseason Invitational teams were scored based on kills and placement in-game. 20 teams for each region would fight it out for the top spot and a grand prize of $25,000.
Point Distribution
- Eliminations will provide 1 Point.
- Placement points are distributed as the following per round:
- 1st place – 12 Points.
- 2nd place – 9 Points.
- 3rd place – 7 Points.
- 4th place – 5 Points.
- 5th place – 4 Points.
- 6th – 10th place – 2 Points.
- 11th – 15th place – 1 Points.
- 16th – 20th place – 0 Points.

During the event, teams played a total of 12 games. 6 on the first day and 6 on the final day. The team with the most amount of points, in the end, would be declared then winner.

While there were plenty of teams from EMEA that stood out Luminosity, former Team 789, showed why they are superior. An unsigned team that made headlines during the Apex Legends Preseason Invitational made their presence known during the GLL Apex Legends Series as part of Luminosity.
