Apex Legends has us patiently waiting for the next legend to arrive. From the massive tease of Crypto to the inclusion of Revenant during the Halloween event. We are eagerly waiting for the next legend to drop. Since we already talk about Revenant, Loba & Rampart let’s take a look at the newest legend Valk.
Valk, possibly short for Valkyrie, is known as the Soaring Aviator. Her nickname makes perfect sense as her name maybe have been inspired by Norse mythology. Her abilities also link up to her name as well so let’s take a look at them.
- Passive: Afterburners – After the initial drop, Valk and her teammates fly faster while skydiving.
- Tactical: VTOL Jets – Hold to hover.
- Ultimate: Skyward – Valk and nearby allies take to the skies after a short countdown.
Already off the bat, she seems to be a very simple legend. Don’t let the simplicity of her abilities fool you, however. Her passive would be great for early advantage from the dropship. Her tactical would be good for scouting areas and team fights. The ultimate would be great for rotation or third party engages.
Valk’s abilities make her a great engage legend as well as a good escape. She is definitely going to be a game-changer if her abilities stay the same. As always though things can change in development so take everything with a grain of salt. Also, let’s clear the air yes Valk is a woman since it’s a highly talked about subject. Valkyrie in Norse mythology are female warriors.
Why is this even a thing… In Norse mythology, a valkyrie (/vælˈkɪəri, -ˈkaɪri, vɑːl-, ˈvælkəri/; from Old Norse valkyrja “chooser of the slain”) is one of a host of female figures who choose those who may die in battle and those who may live.
Valk is likely short for Valkyrie
