It is no secret that Apex Legends is one of EA’s biggest games to date. Since launching in February Apex Legends is a top game competing against Fortnite and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds. Following the popular trend of battle royale games, EA has confirmed the future for Apex Legends. EA chief executive Andrew Wilson promised the mobile version will be available on the 2021 fiscal year. The fiscal year starts on October 1, 2020. EA also touched on Apex Legends being their ‘core’ franchise and stated Apex will also be available on next-gen consoles. Something worth noting is that during EA’s Q2 2020 earnings call is EA stated “Apex Legends is a major long term franchise” for them. There is no argument that Apex Legends is a top game since reaching 70 million players on October 30th.

Another major announcement was the Apex competitive gaming program. No information other than a title was given during the call but details were confirmed to be coming soon.

With the launch of mobile and next-gen for Apex Legends, this will only garner more popularity for the game in the next coming years. Including the recent partnership with Valve, EA & Respawn are thriving with the future of Apex Legends.
